Find recorded footage

Open Playback from the sidebar. Footage is played straight from the recorder at the site, and from the cloud for cameras with cloud recording.

  1. Choose the Device and the Channel (camera) on the left.
  2. Pick a day:
    • Today opens today and starts the most recent footage.
    • Yesterday opens yesterday.
    • Or pick any day on the Calendar. Dots under a day show how much was recorded (fewer than 1 hour, fewer than 8 hours, or the full day). Days ringed in blue have footage in the cloud.
  3. Use Quick jump to go straight to an hour. Hours with footage have a red dot, and the number under an hour is how many events happened then.

All times are in the site’s time zone, not yours.

The timeline under the video shows the day:

  • Green bar: footage on the recorder.
  • Blue bar: footage stored in the cloud.
  • Pictures above it: events. Point at a group to spread it out and click one to jump there.

Drag the timeline or scroll to move through the day. Playback continues from wherever you stop. Click a point to jump there. Hold Ctrl (or ⌘ on a Mac) and scroll to zoom the timeline in or out. Moving past the start or end of the day takes you to the previous or next day.

Under the video:

  • Back 30s, Play/Pause, Forward 30s.
  • Speed: 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x.

You don’t need to choose. IC Secure plays the recorder’s footage when it has that moment, and the cloud copy when it doesn’t (for example when the recorder is offline or has already overwritten that day). Cloud footage shows a Cloud copy label on the video.

Cloud copies have no sound, and some tools (speed, snapshot, download and share) only work on recorder footage.

Hover over the video to show:

  • Save snapshot: download a picture of the current frame.
  • Download a clip and Save and share a clip: see clips.
  • Today’s preview: a fast summary video of today’s events, for cameras with Video Intelligence.
  • Mute/Unmute audio (playback starts with sound on), Fullscreen, and Dewarp for fisheye cameras.

Select Add under Bookmarks to mark the current moment with a label, then click it later to jump back. Bookmarks are saved in this browser only.

Open a camera, then drag the timeline down to go back in time, or tap the date to pick a day. Tap LIVE to return to live video. Pinch the timeline to zoom it. A thin blue bar beside the recording bar means cloud footage, and the video shows Cloud while it plays.

If nothing plays on the phone, there’s no footage at that moment or the recorder can’t be reached. Look for green or blue bars on the timeline.
