Install an IC Core bridge

An IC Core bridge is a small box that sits on the site’s network next to the recorder. It makes one secure connection out to IC Secure and carries the recorders’ video through it. You don’t need a public address, port forwarding or any router changes.

Use one bridge per site. Setting up bridges needs an Administrator.

  1. Connect the bridge’s network port to the same network (switch or router) as the recorder, using a cable. Then plug in its power.
  2. Add it to the account:
    • The bridge has a claim label (a QR code and a code like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX on the case): scan it with the phone app (Settings > Claim a device) or enter the code at app.icsecure.ai/claim. See claim a device.
    • No label: open Devices > Bridges > Enroll device, give it a name, and select Mint claim code. The code works once, for 15 minutes.
  3. Check it’s online. On the Bridges page it should show Online within a few minutes. Never connected means it hasn’t reached IC Secure yet: check the cable and that the site’s internet works.
  4. Assign it to its store. On Bridges, open the bridge’s actions and choose Rename / assign store…. This puts it on the store’s health card.
  5. Add the recorders behind it. Add a recorder, choose IC Connect, pick this bridge, and use Scan LAN to find the recorder.

The Bridges page (Multi-site accounts) lists every bridge with its status, store, recorders, software version and address.

  • Online: checked in within the last 3 minutes.
  • Offline: hasn’t checked in for 3 minutes or more. Every recorder behind it is offline too. See a recorder or bridge shows Offline.
  • Never connected: added to the account but hasn’t reached IC Secure yet.
  • Revoked: switched off on purpose. Restore turns it back on.

Use the tiles at the top to filter, and Sort: attention first to see problems first.

When a newer version is available, the bridge shows Update available with an Update button, and Update all updates every bridge. With Install updates overnight ticked, bridges update themselves between 2 and 4 AM site time, a few at a time. A bridge that’s offline updates when it’s back.

  • Replace hardware… makes a code for a new box that takes over from the old one: same name, same store, and its recorders move over by themselves. The old box stops working when the new one connects.
  • Revoke disconnects a bridge immediately. Use it if a box is lost or stolen.
  • Remove… deletes a dead or scrapped box for good. It must be offline and have no recorders.
