A camera shows no video

What you see What it means What to do
Connecting… or Reconnecting… The stream is starting. Wait a few seconds.
Cannot connect with “Recorder is offline” The camera’s recorder is offline. See a recorder shows Offline.
Cannot connect with “Authentication failed” The recorder’s password was changed, so IC Secure can’t sign in to it. Change it back on the recorder, or contact support to update it.
Cannot connect with “Connection timed out” or “Unable to reach NVR” The recorder didn’t answer in time. Select Retry. If it keeps happening, check the site’s internet.
Stream stopped Streams were paused for the whole page. Nothing is wrong. Use Play all in the toolbar.
Add camera That spot in the layout is empty. Pick a camera for it.

Recorder offline The whole recorder is unreachable. See a recorder shows Offline.
Not responding The recorder is fine, but this camera didn’t answer. It may be unplugged, without power, or disconnected from the recorder.
No preview No picture is available yet. It usually appears within a minute.
No camera Nothing is connected on that channel, or the channel is turned off.

If a recorder shows No cameras on this recorder, open it and use Test Connection or Rediscover Channels to fetch the camera list again.

  1. Select Retry in Live View, or wait a minute for the picture to refresh.
  2. Check the camera on the recorder’s own monitor, if it has one. If it’s black there too, the problem is the camera or its cable.
  3. Check the camera’s cable and power. Most cameras are powered through their network cable (PoE), so a loose cable cuts both power and video.
  4. Restart the camera by unplugging its cable for 10 seconds.
  5. After replacing or moving cameras, open the recorder in Devices and select Rediscover Channels.
