Save and share clips

There are two ways to get footage out of IC Secure:

Download Save and share
What you get An MP4 file on your computer or phone A clip saved in IC Secure with a link anyone can open, no sign-in needed
Counts toward the 25-clip limit No Yes
Length 15 seconds to 5 minutes 15 seconds to 5 minutes (30 seconds on the phone)

Clips are copied from the recorder, so the recorder must be online and still have that footage.

  1. Move the timeline to the end of the moment you want. Clips end at the playhead and go back from there.
  2. Hover over the video and choose:
    • Download a clip (download icon), then Last 15 seconds up to Last 5 minutes.
    • Save and share a clip (link icon), then a length. The link is copied for you; select Copy link to copy it again.

To download an exact range, open the download menu, select Mark start at playhead, move the timeline to the end point, then select Download range. The range can be up to 5 minutes.

Hover over a playing camera and use Download a clip ending now or Save and share a clip. The clip covers the last 15 seconds to 5 minutes.

Open the event on the Events page:

  • Download clip downloads 30 seconds around the event.
  • Share clip saves a 30-second clip (15 seconds either side) and copies its link.
  • On a camera, tap the share icon to save the 30 seconds ending now (or at the playback point) and share the link from your phone’s share sheet.
  • On an event, tap the share icon (or press and hold the event, then Download) to get the MP4 itself. Choose Save Video to put it in your Photos.

Saved clips are under Account > Clips on the web, or Settings > My clips in the phone app. There you can:

  • rename a clip so it’s easy to find (for example “Damaged gate, Oct 26”),
  • Copy link to share it again,
  • Delete a clip. Its link stops working.

Things to know:

  • An account can keep 25 saved clips at a time, shared by everyone on the account. The list shows your own clips, but the count covers the whole account. If you see “You already have 25/25 clips”, delete one first.
  • Saved clips stay until someone deletes them.
  • Links last 90 days. Copying a link again from Clips renews it for another 90 days. An expired link tells the viewer to ask you for a new one.
  • Admins can put a clip on Hold so it can’t be deleted, for example while an insurance claim or police report is open.
  • The recorder is offline: see a recorder shows Offline.
  • No footage at that time: check the timeline for a green bar where your clip should be.
  • “Clip duration … exceeds the 300s cap”: clips can be at most 5 minutes. Pick a shorter range.
